Shepherd Prayer by Mary Jane Edwards

The Lord is my best friend, my shepherd. I rest in your love. You revive my life. You lead me in your pleasure so I can bring honour to your name. You comfort me and take away my fear.

Psalm 23

A psalm of David.

The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
  he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
    for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk
    through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
    for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
    they comfort me.

You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
    my cup overflows.
Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
    forever.

I worship you Oh God, I am your servant. I lay at your feet. I fall face down before you. I cling to you oh God. Your words are true and wonderful.

Revelation 19:10

Revelation 19:6-10

Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting:

“Hallelujah!
For our Lord God Almighty reigns.
Let us rejoice and be glad
    and give him glory!
For the wedding of the Lamb has come,
and his bride has made herself ready.
Fine linen, bright and clean,
    was given her to wear.”

(Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of God’s holy people.)

Then the angel said to me, “Write this:Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!” And he added, “These are the true words of God.”

At this I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said to me, “Don’t do that! I am a fellow servant with you and with your brothers and sisters who hold to the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For it is the Spirit of prophecy who bears testimony to Jesus.”

Embracing Prayer by Mary Jane Edwards

My heart is set towards You, oh Lord. Lay your hands on me and bless me. Soften my heart oh Lord as a little child I come. I open my arms like a child. Embrace me oh Lord.

Mark 10:13-15

The Little Children and Jesus

People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”

Partner Prayer by Mary Jane Edwards

I’m nothing but a wild olive branch in the desert, but God you’ve grafted me in. I’m a joint partner to share in the wonderful richness of the cultivated olive stem. I cannot boast, but your love supports me.

If some of the branches have been broken off, and you, though a wild olive shoot, have been grafted in among the others and now share in the nourishing sap from the olive root,

Faith Prayer by Mary Jane Edwards

If Christ has not been raised, my faith is useless. God has raised Him from the dead. He is alive and my faith is real. My hope is in you oh God. In Christ I will be made alive.

The Resurrection of the Dead

Good News Prayer by Mary Jane Edwards

Dear friends, lets receive the Good News. I hold firmly to your good news O Lord. I look forward to the fulfillment of your promises. Your grace has made me who I am.

1 Corinthians 15:1-10

Now, brothers and sisters, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received and on which you have taken your stand. By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain.

For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third dayaccording to the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, and then to the Twelve. After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers and sisters at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born.

For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
